Two girls among five arrested for sniffing glue

KOTA KINABALU: Five youths were nabbed by police after photographs of them sniffing glue on the rooftop of a four-storey shoplot building in downtown here went viral on the social media. Kota Kinabalu police chief Asst Comm M. Chandra said the youths aged between nine and 19 were brought to the police station with the help from city hall officials. “The three boys and two girls all admitted to sniffing glue with some friends two days ago on top of a building in Kampung Air,” he said. He said three of the youths’ parents have agreed to send them for rehabilitation. However, no criminal element was involved in this case as sniffing glue is not an offence under the penal code.
